Shrek is a star in a young boy’s eyes…?

Auto Date Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Going home from work Friday from the office, I was passing through the heart of Hollywood. You know, where all the stars are? (Definitely on the ground, in person, well that’s more questionable.) Anyway, there’s a grandmother and what I’m guessing is her son leading a little boy of maybe three or four down the street. And the little boy is looking at all the stars. He tells the man (Dad?) something I can’t hear.

Dad’s response: “And if we look long enough, maybe we can see Shrek!”

So I wondered, was this just simply capturing a child’s imagination because he saw Shrek as a “star” or because the Shrek universe is a Hollywood/LA parody?

My first AWN/VFXWorld Byline…

This past weekend, I got the chance to be part of the team covering the Visual Effects Society ninth annual festival. I went on Sunday. You can check out the results of our detailed, informative article here at the AWN, Inc. publication VFXWORLD:

I particularly enjoyed my brief interviews with Edlund and Ralston. I’ve interviewed people before in email interviews and one-on-ones I’ve set up on my own but never in a convention setting. Lots of challenges in doing that way, and competing with these busy people for their time. But it was worth it.
