People have asked how they can order GARDNER’S GUIDE TO WRITING AND PRODUCING ANIMATION. Major online retailers have it, as does anyone who can get it from Ingram (last I heard). But also if you have a favorite bookstore who deals directly with this distributor that is the primary handler of all titles by the Garth Gardner Company (GGC, Inc) that’s even better.

I’ve disappeared from all the Amazon lists now, because being out for 3 months one’s no longer a “new release”. But I’m been pleased with the response to date.
I’d love to hear from people who have read the book, and what they think.

In all the information that’s gone out about GARDNER’S GUIDE TO WRITING AND PRODUCING ANIMATION, one thing that hasn’t been emphasized enough is the Spotlight Interviews from professionals throughout the industry. These people were gracious enough to give their time and expertise and I want to publicly thank each of them for their time.
The full list of interviewees, in alphabetical order, is:
* Jack Angel, Voice Actor
* Monique Beatty, Line Producer
* Jerry Beck, Producer/Animation Historian
* Larry DiTillio, Story Editor/Writer
* Michael Donovan, Voice Director
* John Grusd, Director
* Marc Handler, ADR Story Editor/Writer
* Carl Johnson, Composer
* Bill Koepnik, co-owner of audio post house Advantage Audio
* Christy Marx, Story Editor/Writer
* Jan Nagel, Marketing Diva
* Josh Prikryl, Overseas Supervisor
* Sander Schwartz, Studio Executive
* Tad Stones, Producer
* Brooks Wachtel, Story Editor/Writer
* Greg Weisman, Producer/ Story Editor/Writer

Again, thank you all for your contributions!

Just also brought to my attention that I am now in the Entertainment> Movies> Screenwriting section of Amazon’s Hot New Releases where I now rank at #10! Wow…

If you’ve wanted to know more about the book than Amazon offers, check out the publisher’s site where I’m now the front page feature (with the final cover shown, FYI, Amazon is wrong):
http://www.ggcinc.com/
If you click on the list of the featured books, you’ll have to scroll down to find the full writeup which includes reviews by several people of the book (also found on the back of the book). Check out what they have to say!

I may have slipped back under 500,000 and down the new release rankings and that’s ok. To even be briefly where I was on Amazon in the US was stunning.
But this is too much.
Granted, I do NOT know how much Amazon stocks at a given time. But it is not quite September and since the book came out the last week in JULY they are REORDERING FOR A SECOND TIME with “1 left in stock”. That’s at best 30 days for what is arguably a niche book.
I am just flat out gratefully stunned.

From Amazon.com, as of right now:
#451,493 in Books
That’s out of ALL Books on Amazon. ALL BOOKS.
I am over the 500,000 mark.
Oh my…

Been very busy with AWN work, largely surrounding the Media Center.
Book continues to sell well. As of this hour I am #23 (TWENTY-THREE!) in Direction and Production on Amazon.com. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I’ve also found the Hot New Releases for Animation, for which I’m number #11 of 17 as I write.

I continue to be amazed, pleased, and quite frankly honored. It is my sincere hope this filled a void for people who want information about this industry.

First off, the book is holding relatively strong on the Amazon charts for Direction and Production. It’s moved down a few spots to 67 of 91, but I’m impressed it is there at all, not to mention that it’s beating over 20 books in the category.
Haven’t been around much because I’ve been part of the team shepherding AWN’s Media Center at media.awn.com. The bigger draw right now, is AWN teaming up with fxguide to bring unprecedented coverage of SIGGRAPH via Netcast twice daily and I’m part of the behind the scenes team making sure this gets to you. That’s not all though, you’ll also find lots of other videos to check out submitted from around the globe.
Later!

The book’s only been out a week, and already Amazon is down to 1 left in stock with more on the way.
A friend of mine just emailed me and told me that as of 9am PT I was #63 in Amazon’s Movies>Directing and Producing Hot New Releases List:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/new-releases/books/
I still need to write about the panel I know but it’s been busy since I got back. I hope to soon. But thank you, thank you everyone, for such incredible support. Here’s hoping the wait has been worth it.
